THE SERPENTS SERIES
TRILEMNISOUROS
The Serpent or Snake is considered to be one of the oldest and most widespread of sacred symbols. It is often seen in mythological stories and cultural rituals, and can represent the duality of things – light and dark for example. They can be seen as symbols of fertility, creative life force, rebirth and transformation – shedding their skin – immortality, healing – the venom being used both as poison and the cure.
A new modern contemporary symbol for our times, the Trilemnisouros brings together three ouroboros –serpents swallowing their own tails; a symbol of beginnings and endings – of cycles – each in the form of the infinite lemniscate – the symbol of infinity and of never-ending. The serpent bodies meet at the centre to create the symbols of the Sky Star and the Earth Star.
